Darvesh Logistic Warehousing Facility in Salalah (Cyclone Survivor)

Back to Projects

The logistics hub in Salalah Free Zone is primarily a dry story facility. Half of the building is designed to have the capability to be converted to cold store. The facility accommodates large open store, workers facility, 8 bays for loading/unloading, staff offices, ample car parking and truck parking. During construction, a major cyclone named Mekunu hit Salalah. It was strongest storm to strike Oman ‘s Dhofar Governorate since 1959. At that time the frames were erected in our project and roof and sides sheeting were also installed. The cyclone caused sever damages in many buildings in the region to the extent that a number of neighboring factories to our warehouse were completely shut down to date. However our building stood firm in front of the cyclone causing absolute minimal damages to the building. Good Design, Makes Good Business!
