Administration Building at Sohar University

Back to Projects

Mr Jamal was part of the team who designed the iconic Administration Building at Sohar University. The design shaped the dramatic main entry point to the new campus. It is aligned with the main axil pedestrian walkways leading to the Mosque at the end. The design combines the modernity in architecture with traditional flavor. The gateway under-croft provides a shaded security and circulation intersection for the campus, which is framed with Quranic calligraphy to the soffit and contrasting black granite inscribed columns which disappear into cooling reflective ponds which are the termination of falaj water courses emanating from the mosque as a source and metaphor. The left wing contains administration and the right wing accommodates the student registrations and  the upper floors for other administration departments including top management of the university
